“Lance must have attacked,” Mark said. And sure enough, Lance came flying around the corner, rocking his bike from side to side, ripping up the steep climb like it was a downhill. It was a thrilling attack. Seeing it, I realized how much I miss watching the ruthless, devastating kind of attack that Lance is able to make. None of this tentative, testing-the-waters, softening-up-the-others’-legs kind of attack - no, when Lance attacks, you stay attacked. By the time Ben Jacques-Maynes came by, with Levi in tow, they were already well behind.
